Working in healthcare can be joyful however there are plenty of times that can leave us with feelings of sadness, grief, fear, anger, or guilt resulting in feeling traumatized. The visions, the smells, the sounds, what we have touched all leave a mark - an impact on how we see the world. How we approach life, relationships, and our worldview has been influenced by our experiences. And sometimes these go unrealized to continue moving forward and doing the job at hand. Caring for ourselves is something we often put second. Healthcare workers are healers, we are wired to put all of our heart into caring for others. That is what we do and we, well we “are fine”. But we are human, too. We have basic needs like love, affection, and care. We need it, too. And this is why I am here. Seeing the trauma caused by our job responsibilities and this novel pandemic has brought tears to my heart’s eyes. This time, I am here to use my nursing hat in a different healing fashion. To help you, the worker, the healers, the caretakers. It is time for you to develop your sense of self-care. I will guide you. I will be your teacher. I am here to offer you the truest healer of all, you. During this course, you will receive Meditations, Level 1 Reiki attunement for self-healing, handouts, Level 1 Reiki Manual, and the journey toward be your best self.
